Former Bachelorette and TV news journalist Georgia Love has revealed she’s resigned from Channel 7 to embark on a new career.

Love, 33, will depart the Melbourne newsroom at the end of next month to join storytelling agency, Enthral, as a senior public relations and content manager working on The Good News, which focuses on positive news stories.

“I’m looking forward to putting the skills, knowledge and experience learnt from 11 years working in newsrooms into something new, while still remaining within the media industry,” Love told the Herald Sun.

“Storytelling has always been what I love the most about being a journalist, so when the opportunity came up to work with an agency that puts storytelling first and has a strong journalistic DNA, it couldn’t have been a better fit.

“Media is such a fast-changing landscape and I’m excited to explore another facet of this industry I love so much.

“While any new job can be daunting, I feel extremely positive about this move and can’t wait to get to work and make my mark on the world of brand storytelling.”

The journalist and reality TV star began her TV career as a news anchor for WIN News in Tasmania, where she worked for two years in Launceston before moving to Hobart.

In 2016, she appeared as the Bachelorette on season two of the Ten reality series, where she met now-husband Lee Elliott.

Love then returned to her hometown of Melbourne and stayed on with the network as a weather presenter, with occasional appearances on Studio 10.

In February 2021, she announced she was moving to Channel 7 as a reporter, but in September, was moved to the production desk following backlash over a “racist” post shared on her social media account.

It featured a photo of a cat within an Asian restaurant, along with the caption: “Shop attendant or lunch?”

Love quickly removed the post amid swift backlash, later issuing an apology, saying she was“devastated” and “deeply sorry” for any hurt caused.

She was reportedly counselled by the network and issued an apology to her colleagues in an email sent to staff.
