Game of Thrones star reveals insane security surrounding final season’s scripts

MILLIONS of Game of Thrones fans are desperately clamouring for any clues about the final season - but the scripts have never been locked up tighter.

Game of Thrones Revealed: Season 7 Episode 6

GAME Of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham has revealed the very tight security surrounding the scripts for the next series of the hit show.

The star, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth, said he has received the scripts for the final season but revealed none of the show’s stars can take them home.

Speaking at New York Comic Con, he said: “Let me tell you what I know. Yesterday something quite monumental happened.

“I got the scripts for the last season. Kind of.

“I got them all - I can’t open them because of all the security and I can’t walk them out.

“I went ‘I’m not touching it I don’t care’, because it’s like pulling the pin out of a grenade.”

He added: “Tomorrow I fly back to Ireland and the first table reading is on Sunday.

“The second table reading is on Monday. Then we rehearse and then start shooting the week after.”

The actor - whose arc in the hit show has taken him from acting as the right hand man of Iron Throne pretender King Stannis Baratheon to Jon Snow’s confidante, said he has fulfilled his ambition to make it to the final series.

He said: “My ambition was to get to the last season and now I’ve got to the last season, I’ve got to get to the last episode.”

The actor’s comments came after HBO Head Of Programming Casey Bloys said that even the cast wouldn’t be told how the show will end.

He said: “I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens.”

He added: “You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

HBO bosses are keen to stem the tide of leaks after episodes and script summaries were leaked on the web last year.

The penultimate episode of the season - Death Is The Enemy - appeared on file-sharing sites after it was accidentally posted on HBO Spain’s web platform.

It followed the leak of an episode after a security breach in India which led to four arrests.

And back in August, Thrones script summaries also found their way online after HBO was hacked.
