IF YOU’VE ever watched Game of Thrones, you’ve probably fantasised about sitting on the Iron Throne yourself. More than once.

Well, the folks over at Foxtel have tapped into that sentiment to promote the show’s fourth season, which begins on April 7.

So far they’ve visited Melbourne and Sydney with a replica of the throne, allowing passers-by to sit on it and get their photos taken.

It’s a bit like visiting Santa Claus. Except instead of plonking down on an old, podgy man’s lap, you’re sitting on what is, in theory, the melted swords of your vanquished enemies.

You can also be flanked by some models who’ve dressed up as characters from the show — Joffrey, Daenerys, Khal Drogo ... they even have a white walker.

Brisbanites, you still have a chance to sit on the throne yourself. It’s going to be in King George Square from 7:30am-3:00pm on Friday, March 28.

HUGE GAME OF THRONES PLOT HINT

The rest of you shouldn’t despair though. Foxtel is running a competition in which you can win a replica of the Iron Throne for yourself. Yes, really.

To enter, you have to post a Game of Thrones-related photo of yourself on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #GoTfoxtel.
