Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn, who plays the character Hodor, reveals he’s gay

HE PLAYS one of the most endearing characters on television. He’s developed a huge cult following. And yes, this actor is gay.

POPULAR Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn has revealed he’s gay.

Nairn, who works as a DJ when he’s not doing television, has gained a huge cult following with his portrayal of the character Hodor on HBO’s fantasy drama.

That’s mostly because Hodor only ever says one word — Hodor.

Nairn revealed his sexuality in an interview with winteriscoming.net, a website devoted to the show.

Asked whether he knew how popular he was in the gay community, Nairn had a surprising response.

“In all honesty, when you talk about ‘the gay community’, you are talking about my community,” Nairn said. “I am aware of it, yeah, and I think it’s really lovely.

“I’ve never hidden my sexuality from anyone, my whole life in fact, and I’ve been waiting for someone to ask about it in an interview, cause it’s not something you just blurt out. I’ve tried to lead the questions a few times, to no avail!”

Nairn alongside Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays Bran Stark on the show.

The interviewer pointed out that some people would have a negative reaction to Nairn’s sexuality. He didn’t seem concerned though.

“I had an upbringing to respect other people’s privacy, and their right to be and choose what they want. And I expect, no, demand no less for myself,” Nairn said. “It’s a very small part of who I am on the whole, but nonetheless, in this day and age, it’s important to stand up and be counted. I have and always will stand my ground.”
