Fresh Prince of Bel Air reunion: Will Smith’s casts photo announces streaming special
Will Smith has celebrated 30 years since the Fresh Prince of Bel Air first hit screens with some exciting news of a TV special.

The cast of ‘90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air have reunited, with Will Smith posting a happy family snap on Instagram, and it’s giving us all the nostalgia feels.
Smith, 51, who first hit our screens on the beloved sitcom 30 years ago, revealed they had also filmed a TV special which is due to hit streaming soon.
In the snap, Smith is joined by the OG gang including Daphne Reed, Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana Ali and Jeffrey Townes (DJ Jazzy Jeff).

“Today is exactly 30 YEARS since The @FreshPrince of Bel-Air debuted!” Smith wrote on his Instagram. “So we’re doin’ something for y’all … a for real Banks Family Reunion is comin’ soon to @HBOmax!”
The actor also made mention to James Avery, who died at the age of 68 in 2014. He portrayed Uncle Phil.
“RIP James,” he wrote. ”#FreshPrince30th.”
Not a lot is known about the special just yet, but it will air in the US on streaming service HBO Max, which generally indicates it will drop on Binge in Australia.
The series, which ran from 1990 to 1996 and developed a huge following, is also reported to also be in talks for a reboot.

There were reports late last year a potential reboot was to be managed by Westbrook Inc, a new media company co-founded by Will and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, however there is no confirmation of that yet.
Smith has been known to reunite with his old cast mates, often sending fans wild on social media with pics from the gatherings.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, he joked that he would have to play the Uncle Phil role these days, given that he’s in his 50s.
Original Uncle Phil actor Avery passed away in 2014.
