Will Smith broke down in tears as his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star Janet Hubert relived the actor’s “mistreatment” of her on set.

The emotional conversation with the actress, who played Aunt Viv on the hit 90s sitcom, came during Friday’s episode of the Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk.

The former co-stars buried the hatchet after a decades-long feud as they came together with the rest of the living cast to celebrate the sitcom’s 30th anniversary.

Speaking of the 52-year-old’s behaviour while filming the show, Janet said: “He was young, he was out of control in his own way, he had all this power.

“There was a need for me to have professionalism on the set, because I was used to it, especially as a dancer.”

Will admitted to his rude behaviour and said: “I wasn’t perceptive and, ultimately, I wasn’t kind.”

Janet, who starred on the first three seasons of the NBC series, continued: “I would sit in my car some nights and not want to go anywhere. I didn’t want to go home, I didn’t want to go to work.

“The misconception of me was that I was haughty, difficult, wanted to be the star of the show.”

Will added that the tension between the two was behind the decision to “reduce her role.”

The 64-year-old actress said: “As the oldest woman on that set, there’s that respect level that I just needed to have of being an older woman, a black woman.

“I had been banished and they said it was you who banished me, because I didn’t laugh at your jokes. Then they ordered me to stay in my room, I couldn’t come out on the stage. And I wasn’t unprofessional on the set, I just stopped talking to everybody.”

Due to their feud, Janet was offered a “messed up” deal that would allow her to work for two months and two weeks without taking on other jobs during that time.

Will said he wasn’t aware of the details of the negotiation, though said he understood why she didn’t agree to it.

Fans of the show seemed to take Will’s side of the feud as Janet claimed: “Black people beat my a**. They beat my son’s a**. Somebody smashed a cookie in my son’s face and said, ‘Your mother is a b***h.’ People send me hateful Instagrams, ‘Aren’t you dead yet?’ ‘I love Will, why don’t you just die?’ It was hard.”

As Will began to cry, Janet continued: “But you’re the big star, I’m just a little black b***h.”

The two then decided to take a break from the emotional conversation.

Will returned to speak to clinical psychologist Dr Ramani Durvasula about his behaviour on set, admitting he acted like a “scared little boy” that “didn’t realise the power” of his words.

The famous actor acknowledged his part in the feud and said “it was all way too far on my end.”

Prior to the ending their feud, Will and Janet were known to publicly slam each other throughout the years.

They officially cleared the air in a reunion special to celebrate the popular sitcom’s 30th anniversary.
