Will Kylie Minogue make a return as Charlene to Neighbours to celebrate the show’s 30th year?
AUSSIE soap Neighbours celebrates its 30th year in 2015 and fans are dying to know if Kylie Minogue will make a special return as Charlene Robinson.
ICONIC Aussie soap Neighbours marks its 30th year on television in 2015 and will pull out all the stops to celebrate, including bringing back a number of favourite characters.
What fans of the show really want to know is whether Charlene Robinson, played by pop star Kylie Minogue, will be among those characters making a special cameo.
Harold, played by Ian Smith, will make a return to Ramsay Street, as too will his dead wife Madge, played by Anne Charleston.
Given Madge has been pushing daisies since 2001, how her ghost will be seen is still a closely guarded secret.

Local girl made good Nina, played by singer Delta Goodrem, will also pay a visit to Erinsborough, almost a decade after she bid farewell to the show that made her famous.
But what about Charlene?
Overall-wearing mechanic Charlene was a fixture of Australian television in the mid to late-1980s. Her wedding to Scott, played by Jason Donovan, was a must-see television event.

It’s understood producers of Neighbours first reached out to Minogue more than 12 months ago to float the idea of a cameo.
Months of speculation and rumour intensified in December when Charleston, giving an interview to a UK newspaper about Madge’s return, seemed to let slip that Minogue had signed on.
“I think Kylie is on board for the special and I imagine everyone will be in on it because it’s a big occasion,” Charleston told the Mirror.
Minogue herself has also seemingly teased fans with subtle suggestions of a Charlene comeback, including tweeting that she had bought a pair of overalls.
But an industry insider suggested the Spinning Around singer had only agreed to be part of a documentary about 30 years of Neighbours, rather than a character reprisal.
Whether or not makers of the show have pulled off a serious coup remains to be seen. A sneak peek at some of the 30th anniversary plot lines, released today, doesn’t give away too much.

The YouTube clip, presented by comedian and apparent mega-fan Tommy Little, makes several references to Charlene though.
Little finds a pair of overalls at the garage and also speaks to Charlene’s son Daniel Robinson, played by Tim Phillips, who joined the long-running show last year.
While appearing on a UK chat show last year, Minogue was delivered a message by the hosts from her fictional child and spoke briefly about the show.
Neighbours airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Eleven.
