THE Hellmouth has been reopened — for a little while, anyway.

“This is like a high school reunion, but much worse because they all still look really great,” the show’s creator, Joss Whedon, told EW.
“I was hoping some of them would puff out a bit. But that did not take place.”
The show, which is based on the movie of the same name, ran from 1997 to 2003, becoming a critical darling and spawning a fervent fanbase that endures to this day.
Proving fans’ ongoing adoration, EW also revealed that beginning in 2018, Simon Pulse (Simon & Schuster’s teen imprint) will publish a young adult spin-off book series called Slayer, written by Kiersten White.
On hand at the anniversary photoshoot and interview were Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), Alyson Hannigan (Willow), Nicholas Brendon (Xander), Kristine Sutherland (Joyce), Seth Green (Oz), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), James Marsters (Spike) and David Boreanaz (Angel).
“We ultimately hope to do something that resonates, right? What’s your legacy?” said Gellar, the show’s star.
“And I think for all of us here, we’ve been a part of something that’s bigger than us, that still holds up. It’s all you can ever really hope for.”
But hard-core Buffy buffs are hoping for something more — say, on Netflix.
