CAST your minds back to 2004 — If you were one of the many households tuning in to Neighbours each night, surely you remember Toadie’s troublemaker cousin, Scott “Stingray” Timmins.

How good were the early 2000s!?
How good were the early 2000s!?

He was the loveable larrikin, played by Australian actor Ben Nicholas, who moved in with Toadie following his arrest for streaking across a televised football pitch. Remember now?

Fast forward 13 years later, the awkward young spunk rat has become a bit of a dish. Now 29, Ben is still working within the entertainment industry, most recently on the comedy show Footballer Wants A Wife.

Nicholas’ character ‘Stingray’ sadly left the show in 2007.

Long story short, Sky Mangel (Stephanie McIntosh) discovered she was pregnant after hooking up with Stingray in a drunken encounter and believed him to be the father, leading to a case of baby-daddy drama. Turns out it belonged to her on-and-off again boyfriend, Dylan. Sky’s baby is later diagnosed with leukaemia and in an ironic turn of events Stingray turns out to be a bone marrow match. After donating his marrow to save Sky’s child, he sadly passed away at a Ramsay Street party.

The scene where Stingray’s ashes were scattered across his favourite skate park still remains one of the saddest Neighbours episodes to date.
