Friends: The network bosses thought Monica was too slutty

NETWORK bosses were concerned that the audience would think Monica was ‘too slutty’ because she slept with a guy on a first date in the pilot episode.

THE network executives behind Friends were worried that Monica (played by Courteney Cox) was too slutty.

Lisa Kudrow told talk show host Jimmy Kimmel that the head honchos were concerned about a storyline where Monica slept with a man on the first date.

“When we were shooting the pilot the network got really nervous that the audience wouldn’t like her (Monica) because she was sleeping with him on the first date, it’s slutty,” said Kudrow.

“They actually made up a survey to give to the audience to ask them questions — ‘So Monica sleeps with Bob the sales guy on the first date. How does that make you feel?’

“Most of them were like, ‘It’s fine!’”
