Fired contestant Layla Subritzky backs Roxy Jacenko's Celebrity Apprentice tactics
BOOTED contestant Layla Subritzky had nothing but kind words to say about her Celebrity Apprentice bestie Roxy Jacenko.
SHE'S caused more on-screen controversy than Aussie audiences have seen in a long time, but booted contestant Layla Subritzky had nothing but kind words to say about her Celebrity Apprentice bestie Roxy Jacenko.
Layla, who was fired on Tuesday night along with team mate Dermot Brereton, has opened up about the constant backstabbing that goes on during Nine's reality TV show, and says that's why she "got along with Roxy all the time".
"She'd stab me in the stomach and not in the back", the 25-year-old Brit tells news.com.au.
"Roxy would tell me to my face when I was doing something wrong. She was a great support to me."
Layla also debunked the rumours that she had been offered a top-notch job by the PR powerhouse after Apprentice wrapped, saying: "If Roxy owns a million-dollar company and she offers me a job then I'm lucky… but she didn't actually offer me a job."
The reality TV starlet was quick to dismiss the subject of Jacenko describing her as "Switzerland" in front of the cameras, because she tends to "just sit on the fence".
"I don't like to surround myself with unnecessary drama and I didn't feel the need to go in and create drama just for the sake of it.
"I didn’t want to turn my experience into a negative one."
Despite Layla's best efforts to play the role of Apprentice peace-keeper in many of the challenges, she admitted that it was often a case of 'easier said than done'.
"I just wanted to go in there and create friends with everyone but obviously that didn't happen," she laughed.
"I didn't get along with Steph, to be honest. I thought we were friends but then she said to Mr Bouris in the boardroom 'I think we should fire Layla because she doesn't have any skills.'"
After getting the sack on Tuesday night's episode, a dazed Layla commented in the car while leaving: "I will be gutted if Steph wins… She is a nightmare to work with."
And it seems that time hasn't bridged any gaps between the two either, with Layla admitting that they are no longer in contact.
"We don't have any contact, we don't really need to - Not unless she's going to invite me to her wedding with Millsy", Subritzky joked, before admitting that she didn't know if the pair were an item.
The brunette beauty, who split from her Big Brother co-star Sam Wallace earlier this year and has since been linked to rugby union Romeo, Quade Cooper, says she's not currently seeing anyone.
Layla revealed that she's been working hard at losing weight, (although she wouldn't reveal just how much) and is working closely with weight loss product QuickTrim.
She has also designed her own line of shapewear, which is set to launch in the coming weeks.
But, as for whether she's done her dash with reality TV after both Celeb Apprentice and Big Brother, Layla 'Nearly' Subritzky promises she's not ready to hang up her reality TV boots just yet.
