Elizabeth Debicki looks just like Princess Diana in The Crown season five photos

Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki has transformed into Princess Diana in behind the scenes images from The Crown’s upcoming season.

Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki is the spitting image of Princess Diana in new pictures from behind the scenes of The Crown.

The 31-year-old, who plays the late Princess of Wales in the upcoming fifth season of the Netflix royal drama, was seen on-set at an airport in the UK bearing a striking resemblance to Diana.

Debicki, who replaces British actress Emma Corrin for the latest series, was spotted filming with English actor Dominic West, who plays Prince Charles, as the duo recreated a scene with young Princes William and Harry as the family arrived at an airport to board a private jet to Italy.

The Tenet actress was seen sporting shorter blonde hair as part of her transformation, and was wearing a pencil-style floral dress similar to one Diana once wore.

The actors were filmed getting out of a brown Jaguar before boarding the Royal Air Force plane, in a scene shot outside London at Dunsfold Aerodrome.

At one point Debicki was seen leaning into to kiss West before they ascended the plane stairs.

The previous season ofThe Crown, which covered 1979 to 1990, ended with the Queen forbidding Charles from divorcing Diana, thus leaving West and Debicki to portray the royals during the rockiest part of their marriage and their 1996 divorce.

The new season will also see Downton Abbey star Imelda Staunton taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II, replacing Oscar winner Olivia Colman, who played the monarch in seasons three and four.

British actress Claire Foy played the youngest version of the monarch in the first and second season.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones star Jonathan Pryce is taking over the role of Prince Philip – played by fellow GoT franchise star Matt Smith in his younger years, and by Outlander star Tobias Menzies in seasons three and four.

Jonny Lee Miller is also joining the cast as UK Prime Minister John Major, who served as the country’s leader from 1990 until 1997, and was succeeded by Tony Blair just months before Diana’s tragic death in August 1997.

It’s set to air on Netflix some time next year.
