Donald Trump’s most random, ridiculous on-screen appearances
FROM The Fresh Prince to Da Ali G Show and Home Alone 2, Donald Trump has had some seriously weird cameos. These are the scenes he’d like us to forget.
Master of PR and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to carry out his self-promotional assault.
But thankfully, the world wide web affords us freedoms no catchy slogan or choreographed dance can silence. The palpable power of the Trump ‘16 campaign has not, cannot, and will not stifle our right to dig up random clips of The Donald of old.
Pre-presidential Trump stooped to a series of shameful lows in the name of publicity, so in an effort to stop the man from turning international politics into a elimination-based contest, let’s take a look at the following clips and see if they scream ‘leader of the free world’.
WRESTLEMANIA
How this weird WrestleMania appearance hasn’t been dragged out to embarrass Trump yet is anyone’s guess.
Not only did America’s maybe-President interrupt the 100 per cent genuine* event, but he also went on to straddle the respectable* sport’s patriarch — Vince McMahon, repeatedly punching the poor man in the centre of his face, then going on to shave his head in the middle of the ring.
Hulk Hogan only knows how he’d go about pardoning a Turkey.
THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR
So this one time while Will Smith was bunking with a snooty black family in Bel Air, The Donald thought he could worm his way into the proceedings and buy out the owners.
The Bel Air mansion didn’t end up in Trump’s hands, probably due to the smarmy, self-congratulating air with which he sauntered in and out of the Fresh Prince’s life.
Even a full head of hair couldn’t legitimise this shameless bit of promotion masquerading as a plot thread.
DA ALI G SHOW
The Donald loves to remind people of his skills in the art of reading people. Throughout The Celebrity Apprentice — which, if you haven’t seen, is kind of like Game of Thrones — Trump would laud the quality of his own bulls**t-detector.
Why then, was such a pioneer in the art of human relationships, duped by a well-educated British man dressed as a member of the “Berkshire Massiv”?
Here, Ali forces The Donald to squirm in this seat with the pitch for a new business idea.
HOME ALONE 2
Recent images of McCauley Culkin coupled with the man that Trump’s become since 1992, makes this scene from Home Alone 2 more ominous and less wondrous than intended.
As the glitz of New York enraptures young Culkin, it’s as if the universe sends a warning to “get the hell out of there” in the form of a loitering Donald Trump — a warning that the kid fails to notice.
Trump would argue he was chosen to appear in the family film because he’s a holy symbol of the great city of New York, but I assume he wiggled his way on set and refused to leave until someone gave him a line.
TRUMP’S ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE
Apparently every single celebrity on earth wanted Trump to sit the ALS challenge, not because of the notable cause but to see what happened to the man’s dome-rug.
As if gloating to anyone in a position of poverty or sexual repression, the man has the bucket filled with boutique bottled water by both Miss Universe and Miss USA.
It’s the most anticlimactic moment ever uploaded to YouTube.
OTHER NOTABLE APPEARANCES
It seems The Donald has gone out of his way to crack down on his more shameful screen appearances, but know that he’s also appeared on:
The television shows Suddenly Susan, Spin City, The Nanny, and The Drew Carey Show.
The films The Associate, Zoolander and The Little Rascals.
Reality shows such as Candid Camera, Queer Eye, America’s Got Talent, and Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
And a Bobby Brown documentary.
Take each of these appearances into account over the remainder of this year, and good luck to us all.
*Not.
