IT WAS the blazer that stopped a nation. Julie Snook has addressed the #jacketgate footage and her relationship with Amber Sherlock.

Nine News Presenter lashes out in 'catty' off-air wardrobe row

IT WAS the blazer that stopped a nation. Well, the lack of a blazer.

Almost two months after off-air footage of Channel Nine reporter Julie Snook being berated by newsreader Amber Sherlock for wearing a similar colour top to her during a live cross was leaked and went viral around the world, Snook has spoken about the incident that will forever be known as “#jacketgate”.

And she’d like us all to know one thing: “There’s more to me than just a jacket.”

Speaking to Nine Honey, the 29-year-old sports reporter and weather presenter says she's moved on from the “bizarre situation”.

“It’s been a big learning curve for me. It’s shown me both the good and the bad in people and shown just how much we can really come together. I’ve had a lot of support here at Nine,” she said.

“At the end of the day you just have to laugh it off, it was such a rare situation. There’s more to me than just a jacket, than just that incident.”

Snook also insists there’s no bad blood between her and Sherlock.

“We are all able to make a joke about it here, everyone has a great sense of humour,” she said.

In the leaked footage, an annoyed Sherlock can be seen berating her colleague for wearing a similar colour top for a live cross.

“I need Julie to put a jacket on because we’re all in white. I asked her before we came on — Julie, you need to put a jacket on,” Sherlock demanded.

“Come on, I told you two hours ago.”

In the recent interview, Snook added it was “unfortunate” women “don’t always get judged on what we say”.

“People have this impression that working in TV is about the hair and the makeup, what we’re wearing and how we look,” she said.

“People don’t tend to realise it’s not that glamorous when you’re sitting outside a courthouse for six hours every day.”
