The one image that sums up ‘narcissistic’ Roxy Jacenko

THE controversial PR Queen opened up about her husband’s prison sentence and her shock cancer diagnosis but it was this image that had everyone talking.

SHE’S the mega-ambitious PR powerhouse who’s built an impressive multimillion-dollar fortune from scratch.

And now, after last night’s 60 Minutes interview, Roxy Jacenko’s secret is finally out.

She’s been busy building an army of clones.

The focus of the segment was supposed to be on Jacenko’s cancer battle in the wake of her husband Oliver Curtis’ incarceration for insider trading — but many viewers had a different takeaway.

Granted, the Sweaty Bettyfounder may not have actually noticed prior to the interview airing that her PR office was completely fitted out with 20-something lookalikes, but it was hard for people watching to miss the fact that they all had similar blonde hair and features with every one of them in an all-black ensemble.

Jacenko clearly wasn’t a fan of the clone claims - she hit back online, posting a photo on Instagram of her staff (including some brunettes) in the office.

“For the half-wits who today suggested I have blonde ‘clones’ - a little research and you might discover that brunettes are very welcome in our office,” she captioned the image.

So what does this pack of mini-Roxys and the woman herself actually do in that office?

That’s what comedian Wil Anderson wanted to know when he grilled 60 Minutes journalist Allison Langdon on 2Day FM’s Rove & Sam this morning.

“What exactly has she done though? he asked Langdon, “Why should I respect what she’s done?”

“She’s self-made,” replied the Channel Nine presenter.

“But into what? What did she self-make herself into?” Anderson said.

“Well, they call her the PR Queen,” Langdon said.

“What does that mean though?” the comedian pressed, “Just tell me what she does. Can you tell me anything she’s done? I just need one example.”

“She promotes brands,” Langdon said testily.

“Is she a social media influencer of some kind?” continued the comedian.

“You’ve really come into this Wil with a set opinion on this girl,” Langdon snapped.

Rove McManus quickly jumped in and asked the journalist why Jacenko seems to have a “very detached sense of reality”.

“I think there’s a level of, this probably sounds mean, but narcissism in there,” admitted Langdon, who said she came to like Jacenko after interviewing her.

“But I think you’d find that a lot of people who become quite successful are impervious to criticism.”

The confrontational interview on Rove & Sam was a stark contrast to the Kyle and Jackie O show that scored an interview with Jacenko herself.

The KIIS FM radio stars went easy on Jacenko, showering her with praise and only allowing complimentary listeners to call through and chat to the PR pro live on air.

Still, Sandilands did manage to get in a couple of his trademark inappropriate questions.

“Did you guys make love that morning?” he asked Jacenko about the day her husband was sentenced.

“Oh my god, can you not!” she replied.

“You wouldn’t want him (her husband) to take a lover in there (prison) though,” Sandilands asked later.

“I don’t think he’s really that way inclined,” Jacenko said.

The mother of two told the radio duo that she watched 60 Minutes with her mum and her aunt last night and she was pretty happy with what she saw.

“I sort of high-fived myself after it because I thought, you know what, it was very hard,” she said.

“Probably there were two reasons I did 60 (Minutes). One was because the whole amount went to charity, it went to three different charities for cancer. And the second was to say ‘F-you’,” Jacenko said.

Jacenko let 60 Minutes film the tumour she had removed to prove she does have cancer.

After revealing her breast cancer diagnosis in July, cynics questioned the timing around her cancer announcement — which she labelled “pathetic”.

“Someone wrote on Hunter’s Instagram, ‘How’s your mummy’s fake cancer?’” she said.

“It makes me angry, I mean the reality is you’d have to be sick in the head to think that someone would actually manipulate a timeline on cancer. People die from cancer.”
