‘Nailed the lie’: Piers Morgan claims Kate Moss’ testimony changes Johnny Depp’s trial

Piers Morgan has weighed in Johnny Depp’s trial and believes Kate Moss’ testimony has nailed Amber Heard’s lie.

Piers Morgan says Kate Moss’ testimony in Johnny Depp’s defamation case “may have swung” in the actor’s favour.

The supermodel testified the Pirates of the Caribbean star never pushed her down a flight of stairs during a vacation in Jamaica – contrary to a rumour spread by Amber Heard.

In her four-minute testimony, the glamour girl was asked by Depp’s lawyer if he ever pushed her down the stairs during their four year relationship.

“No. He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,” she said.

During Thursday’s episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, available to stream on Flash, the Sky News host discussed the trial with model and Moss’ friend Janice Dickinson.

The former America’s Next Top Model judge recalled her own experience with the former couple.

“I was on a flight from Virgin Islands to St. Barts and the both of them had clearly been drinking, as I was clearly drinking on this air flight, and he was a total gentleman to her,” she said.

“He was a total gentleman to me and I’ve run into Johnny Depp several times in Los Angeles after Happy Hour has like long set, so to sit on Happy Hour, he was never violent towards anyone.

“And as far as Amber Heard saying that she had been tossed down flights of stairs or beaten up by Johnny Depp or anything like that. I don’t believe it for one New York City second.”

The former Good Morning Britain presenter said Moss’ testimony could change everything.

“I think the bottom line with this is I think that Kate Moss today in a very powerful few minutes, may have completely swung this back Johnny Depp’s way because she nailed a lie Amber Heard was trying to use,” he said.

The Edward Scissorhands star is suing his ex-wife for $70 million, claiming she defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post opinion piece in which she described herself as a victim of domestic abuse.

Depp was not named in the essay, but he says it clearly referenced him – and ruined his career, damaged his reputation and lost him tens of millions of dollars.

Heard’s team argues that Depp did abuse his ex-wife, physically and sexually, and claim that his denials are not credible because he was often too drunk or high to recall what happened.

The former couple met on the set of The Rum Diary and began dating in 2012. They married in February 2015 but called it quits after 15 months.
