The reporters, which included Linton Besser, were arrested after a press conference in Malaysia, Sarawaka Report reports.

They have since been released and have not been charged with any offence.

It is unclear how long the reporters were held in custody.

Sally Neighbour, the program’s Executive Producers, said on Twitter that the staff were arrested “after trying to question Prime Minister Najib Razak over a corruption scandal.”

Prime Minister Razak is currently facing allegations that he stole funds from a Malaysian state development fund.
