Coronavirus Australia: Tracy Grimshaw broadcasts A Current Affair from her spare room
ACA viewers were surprised to see Tracy Grimshaw set up in a new home studio, but she wasn’t immune from the usual working from home issues.
A Current Affair host Tracy Grimshaw has joined the many Aussies recently tasked with having to rearrange their homes into an office set-up as we battle the coronavirus pandemic and implement social distancing measures.
But – like many of us would have already experienced – it’s not always smooth sailing on day one.
Broadcasting from her spare bedroom, which has been transformed into a home studio complete with lights, audio, camera and A Current Affair backdrop display, Grimshaw told viewers she was opting to host the program from home for the next few weeks.

“Tonight we’re coming to you from my bedroom,” Tracy Grimshaw said at the beginning of the program.
“And there’s something I never thought I’d say.
“It’s a spare room and in the interests of staying home we’ll be here for a while. I have a small crew here for the first night, which is allowed, because they’re of course at work.
“As you can see we’re a little bit cramped, but we have to do it.”
Launching into an interview with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg following today’s massive $130 billion support package announcement for businesses and employees, the Channel 9 TV personality became slightly flustered as she suffered a small technically difficulty which saw the television screen behind her switch to a different channel.

“Josh, I'm sorry, I'm broadcasting from home and we have a home studio. The plasma behind me has gone,” Grimshaw said, blushing slightly.
“I think these things will happen in a home studio,” she said as the screen was switched back.
“OK, we have fixed the plasma in my spare bedroom. Let's proceed.”
Despite the minor hiccup, viewers praised her efforts to deliver the program from home and maintain safe social distancing from her colleagues.
it's very bizarre but also convenient to see @tracygrimshaw at home on @ACurrentAffair9 tonight

Grimshaw’s move comes as fellow Channel 9 personality Richard Wilkins remains in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 three times.
He is believed to have caught the infection from Rita Wilson, who was confirmed to have coronavirus with her husband Tom Hanks and isolated in Queensland.
The couple were finally able to return to Los Angeles last week, with Hanks reportedly doing a happy dance on the tarmac after touching down.
Today Extra host Wilkins, 65, shared the disappointing news that he had tested positive for the third time on Instagram, explaining that he was still displaying absolutely no symptoms of COVID-19.
“So I’ve now returned a positive result THREE times. Still can’t believe it as I still have ZERO symptoms,” he wrote.
