JOURNALIST Tracey Spicer says she’s ‘been sent audiotapes’ from women coming forward with stories of sexual harassment at work.

VETERAN journalist Tracey Spicer has explosive evidence to prove claims that dozens of Australian “household names” are guilty of sexual harassment and assault, she says.

Ms Spicer said more than 400 women had come forward and shared their stories of workplace sexual assault and harassment in the media and entertainment industry since she last week put a call out online so she could investigate the claims.

The broadcaster says she has evidence that as many as 40 well-known men are guilty of inappropriate conduct.

She told 9Honey that the most serious reports she had received involved “dozens of allegations of rape”.

“But it’s not only the allegations that are horrific, it’s the cover-up,” Ms Spicer said.

“In about 50 per cent of the instances that have been brought to me, the victims have reported it to the workplace, have gone through the whole process, have gone through to HR, gone to their managers, diarised it, sent emails, they have evidence.

“I’ve been sent audiotapes, I’ve been sent email trains.”

Ms Spicer, who earlier year released a memoir called The Good Girl Stripped Bare detailing several instances of workplace harassment, has reportedly put together a team of police, legal representatives, witnesses and victims who are all prepared to go on the record.

She said her aim was to bring perpetrators of sexual abuse and assault in the Australia media and entertainment industries to justice.

“I don’t want (my daughter) to have to go in there and put up with the groping, the grabbing, the threats of rape that go on in workplaces that go on when there is a huge power disparity between male bosses and younger female employees,” Ms Spicer said.
