Robbie Williams set to guest star on SmoothFM radio station
ROBBIE Williams is turning his vocal cords to radio presenting, with one Aussie station snapping him up for a hosting gig.
ROBBIE Williams is the latest celebrity to turn his vocal cords to radio hosting.
The English singer-songwriter has signed on to guest star on smoothfm's weekend line-up for four weeks from Saturday 16 November at 4pm.
The all-new undertaking is in support of his latest album Swings Both Ways, which is released on Friday, November 15.
Williams said of the venture: "Robbie Williams - entertainer, actor, singer and now radio host. How good is this! It's great to be on smoothfm."
The Better Man hit maker will join X Factor judge Ronan Keating, who is returning to the easy listening station (found at 95.3FM in Sydney and 91.5FM in Melbourne) to host his own show on Sundays from 4pm.
Former Sunrise host Melissa Doyle joined the station last month and hosts her own weekend breakfast show every Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 10am.
Smoothfm's Program Director Rohan Brown said: "We are all incredibly excited to be welcoming superstar Robbie Williams to smoothfm. With Robbie, Ronan Keating and Melissa Doyle all joining the smooth line up recently, our weekends are sounding incredible."
To date, Robbie has sold 2.6 million albums in Australia alone, but it will be interesting to see if listeners tune in to hear his silky-smooth voice in the new role.
