Radio ratings: Check out who is winning (and losing) Melbourne’s hot airwaves battle

MELBOURNE is currently in the hottest battle for control of the airwaves across the country. Check out who is the top dog and which shows are falling in the latest ratings survey war.

TALK station 3AW are the No. 1 station in Melbourne with a very strong ratings survey.

Led by Ross Stevenson and John Burns in breakfast, the station had a rise across the board.

Stevens and Burns increased their lead over Red Symons on ABC774, rising from an 18.1 share to 20.1.

Neil Mitchell, Denis Walter, Tom Elliott all had a strong survey.

The biggest rise was for the longtime 3AW night show with Philip Brady and Bruce Mansfield, rising from 12.1 to a 16.4 share.

In other radio ratings news:

â–  EDDIE McGuire’s Hot Breakfast team is No. 1 again in the competitive FM breakfast timeslot with a 8.6 share.

The battle for second is very close, with Nova’s Meshel Laurie and Tommy Little with a 6.2 share, Fox FM’s Fifi Box and Dave Thornton with a 5.9 share, KIIS FM’s Jane Hall and Matt Tilley also with a 5.7 share, Gold FM’s Brigitte Duclos and Anthony Lehmann with a 5.4 share, 3JJJ with a 5.0 share, and Smooth FM with a 4.5 share.

â–  IN the FM ratings drive battle, FOX FM are No. 1 with a 8.9 share, despite the fact Hamish Blake and Andy Lee don’t start back on air until July. Nova’s Tim Blackwell, Kate Ritchie and Marty Sheargold are in second sport with a 8.7 share, and KIIS star recruits Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek in third with 7.9 share.

â–  THE rise of Smooth FM continues — ‘the easy place to relax’ is the No. 2 FM station overall, equal with FOX FM.
