IT is one of the biggest mysteries of modern-day music - what do the Daft Punk men really look like?

And this is why we all love the internet.

Music producers The Knocks posted this picture of fellow electronic duo Daft Punk on their Facebook page on Thursday.

The unmasked men appear to be playing a game of champagne pong at the office of their record label, Columbia.

The famous French duo, consisting of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, are almost never photographed without their trademark robot helmets.

Someone at Knocks base camp quickly deleted the photo and posted a status update on their page: "GUESS WE WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO POST THAT PIC :X" (sic)

Unfortunately for the pair, the sneaky pic had already been picked up by numerous people on social media, and it quickly went viral.

Daft Punk have spoken in the past about their concerns about revealing their identity.

"The robots are famous, we’re not. We're allowed to have a normal life like regular people and interact normally with people without so much of a fake situation. That's really important to us", Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo said in a recent interview with NME.
