The infamous 2016 phone call between Taylor Swift and Kanye West has leaked online unedited, revealing the truth behind their lyric dispute.

According to The Sun, Swift, 30, called out rapper West for using her name in his 2016 song Famous in a derogatory way, but his wife Kim Kardashian shared their supposed phone call at time where Swift appears to agree to her name being used.

In the clip, West can be seen sat at a desk as he reads the first lyric out to the Shake It Off hit maker.

Laughing in response, Swift replies: “That’s not mean.”

West then explains: “That’s why I’m calling you because you got an army, you own a country of motherf**king two billion people basically.

“That if you felt that it’s funny and cool and hip hop and felt like the College Dropout and the artists that you love, then people would be way into it. And that’s why I think it’s super genius to have you be the one who says, ‘Oh I like this song, yeah whatever, it’s cool’.”

Taylor then continues to laugh and tells him: “I mean I need to think about it, because you know you hear something for the first time and you just need to think about it.

“Because it is absolutely crazy! I’m glad it’s not mean though, it doesn’t feel mean.”

West then replies: “If you think that that’s cool, then it’s cool, if not … I mean we are launching on Good Friday on Soundcloud, on the site …”

Swift responds: “The thing about me is anything that I do becomes like a feminist thing for me, and if I launch it they’ll just turn it into something that … I think if I launch it, it will be less cool.

“Because having that many followers and having that many eyeballs on me right now, people are just looking for me to do something dumb or stupid or lame.

“I dunno, I kinda feel like people would try to make it negative if it came from me, do you know what I mean?” she adds before the video cuts off.

People have taken to Twitter in droves upon hearing the footage and they are not impressed with West and Kardashian.

One person tweeted: “Basically, the whole phone call leaked, revealing Taylor Swift never consented to being called “that b***h. She never lied or was a ‘snake’. She was recorded illegally and manipulated by Kanye West and everyone owes her an apology.”

A second person posted: “Kanye West is manipulative. Taylor Swift was NEVER ‘playing the victim’. She WAS a victim of his manipulation.”

A third person added: “Literally everyone but her fans sent Taylor Swift hate. The snake emojis, the death threats, the bodyshaming, the s**t-shaming and more … Taylor didn’t even lie. F*ck Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.”

The hashtags #KanyeWestIsOverParty and #TaylorToldTheTruth began trending on social media.

After the song was released and Swift hit out at West, he insisted that he had run all of the lyrics past her but the blonde singer continued to deny his claim, which was why Kim felt the need to call Swift out.

The mum-of-four entered the feud when she told GQ that Swift had given her husband her blessing over the Famous lyrics.

She said: “She totally approved that, she wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t.

“I swear, my husband gets so much s*** for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.”

But Kardashian went one step further adding the conversation had been recorded on camera, and the following month she released the recording on her social media for all to see and hear.

The backlash against Swift was so bad that the singer practically disappeared from the limelight for almost a year.

However, in 2019 Swift discussed the incident during an interview with Rolling Stone, saying: “When I heard the song, I was like, ‘I’m done with this. If you want to be on bad terms, let’s be on bad terms, but just be real about it’.

“And then he literally did the same thing to Drake. He gravely affected the trajectory of Drake’s family and their lives. It’s the same thing. Getting close to you, earning your trust, detonating you … Go watch Drake talk about what happened.”

Tension between the stars first arose back in 2009 when West stormed the stage at the MYTV VMAs as Swift accepted her award for Best Female Video.

The Gold Digger rapper famously told Swift: ‘I’ma let you finish but, Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,’ referring to her iconic Single Ladies visuals which were nominated.
