An Australian publication has been slammed online after deleting a post offering free tickets to a Taylor Swift concert in Sydney.
The Daily Aus posted a promotion to their Instagram page on Wednesday in which they asked followers to tag three friends in return for a chance to win four A Reserve tickets (the most expensive) to Swift’s Eras Tour concert in Sydney on February 23.
However, the website deleted their post just hours later much to the fury of fans.
“Where did your post for your competition go? That’s a horrible way to gain followers,” one user wrote.
“To play on people’s emotions to get likes and clout or whatever is really low for a company,” another wrote.
“WHERE’S THE ERAS GIVEAWAY,” another screamed.
Others urged people to “unite and write complaints to Fair Trading for Trade Promotions”.
The publication shared a second post on Wednesday evening in which they explained that they did have four tickets but they were banned from giving them away to readers.
The caption of the post read: “We want to always own our mistakes and this is a big one.
“We are sorry.”
news.com.au has reached out the Daily Aus for comment.

The last tickets for Sydney were officially snapped up at 2pm on Wednesday, with Melbourne’s allocation of tickets exhausted two hours later.
