Taylor Swift announces five Australian shows in The Eras Tour
Australian Swifties are waking up to the news they’ve been desperately waiting for, with the star confirming she’s headed Down Under.
After months of speculation, Taylor Swift has announced she’s bringing The Eras Tour to Australia in 2024.
Frontier Touring shared the exciting news on Twitter early on Wednesday morning, writing: “We’re enchanted to announce Taylor Swift is returning to Australia.”
It was also revealed that her special guest in Australia will be Sabrina Carpenter.
The All Too Well singer will play two shows at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on February 16 and 17, before moving to Sydney’s Accor Stadium for a three-show run on the 23rd, 24th, and finishing up on the 25th.
The Eras Tour is Swift’s sixth headlining concert tour and she’s described it as a journey through all of her “musical eras”, paying tribute to all of her studio albums including her latest, Midnights, which was released last year.
It also covers the three albums released during the pandemic which were never given a tour - Lover in 2019 and Folklore and Evermore, which were both released in 2020.
Swift’s tour kicked off in the US in March and will wrap up its American dates in early August before heading overseas.
The sold-out shows have drawn huge crowds and plenty of celebrities, including Drew Barrymore, Miles Teller and Jennifer Lawrence.
During her New Jersey performance over the weekend, Swift delighted fans with a surprise live duet with rapper Ice Spice, who features on a new version of the song, Karma.
Mumford and Sons frontman Marcus Mumford and producer Jack Antonoff have also made onstage cameos during the tour so far.
