Steel Panther are laugh out lewd funny
PROPER rock stars aren't averse to a little self-mythologising. Satchel (probably not his real name) from Steel Panther knows the score.

When asked what is metal about his day, the loose-limbed Lothario responds with a question.
"What isn't metal about my day? I'm wearing zebra spandex with no underpants, which is rad, and there are three girls in my room," he says, before making a direct suggestion that one of these girls is, ahem, helping him with the interview. He continues "She's got headphones on and she's listening to Saxon right now."
This is probably not happening, Hit doesn't need to tell you that, you're an astute reader. But - and it's a Sir Mixalot sized but(t) - maybe it is happening, maybe all the years spent slogging it out playing gigs on the Sunset Strip have paid off to the point where Steel Panther have the exact lifestyle they started out playfully imitating.
Their 2009 debut album Feel The Steel debuted at No.1 ... on the Billboard Comedy charts, and follow-up Balls Out crossed over to Europe where the British recognised a good Spinal Tap gag when they saw one. From there Steel Panther began touring the world, bringing it loud and lewd and so politically incorrect they'll give Sir Les Patterson a run for his money when the quartet arrives here.
Steel Panther made their name at their infamous weekly residency at The Key Club in Hollywood. And the residency became properly famous when they accrued celebrity cameos including Kenny Loggins, Corey Feldman, Justin Hawkins, Tom Morello, P!nk, Avril Lavigne, Tera Patrick, Phil Anselmo and oodles more. Importantly, just like Wayne says to Crucial Taunt's lead singer Cassandra in Wayne's World: "Man, you guys wail." They don't accept cameos from just anyone, though.
"Ryan Seacrest has been trying to get into our shows for the last two years and I always make security hold him at the door. I've seen what Ryan Seacrest does and I don't think he'd be able to handle what we do, sometimes we get girls and ..." he continues on this train of thought, making the phone receiver turn a dark hue of blue.
Steel Panther's appeal in Australia was confirmed when they sold out some of their shows in 13 minutes. Is that lucky or unlucky? "Because you guys are in Australia, south of the equator, that means it's lucky.
"I'm lucky a lot of Aussie girls send me nude photos of themselves, some guys do too, that's kind of weird. I will comment on the pictures girls send me, they appreciate that kind of contact," he says, sounding dead serious. "People think that just because I'm a rock star I won't talk to them. And sometimes I won't talk to girls, even though I'm having sex with them, that's because I'm concentrating on ..." once again, Satchel does a little oversharing.
