Guy Sebastian has been forced to postpone his tour dates after testing positive for Covid, revealing he’s “absolutely gutted”.

Australian music star Guy Sebastian has been forced to cancel two shows of his T.R.U.T.H tour after testing positive to Covid-19 amid a court trial where the judge has also fallen ill.

The singer, 40, was set to perform in Cairns on May 10 and Townsville on May 11.

Sebastian postponed both shows after testing positive to Covid on Thursday, just hours after attending court to testify in the trial of his former agent Titus Day.

“I am absolutely gutted! I was so looking forward to performing in Cairns & Townsville next week,” Sebastian said in a media release.

“I’m so sorry to disappoint my fans and I promise to do something even more special once I’m able to perform as a thank you for your patience and understanding.”

All ticket holders to the Cairns and Townsville shows will be contacted via email. Sebastian is expected to resume his tour on the Gold Coast next Friday, May 13.

The announcement comes after Sebastian was the first witness called to give evidence in court at the trial of former agent to the stars Titus Day, 49, on Wednesday.

Mr Day has pleaded not guilty to 50 counts of fraudulently embezzling money allegedly owed to Sebastian and 50 alternative larceny charges.

The trial, which began on Tuesday, was due to resume on Thursday morning with Sebastian scheduled to return to the witness box.

After a short delay, the court was told the Judge appointed to preside over the case had become ill.

Judge Peter Zahra would not able to attend court for two days, the court was told.

It’s unclear if Sebastian will be permitted to give evidence via audiovisual link if he is unable to be in Sydney when the trial is set to resume on Monday.

He is yet to be cross examined by Mr Day’s lawyer.

Police allege the money Mr Day owed 40-year-old Sebastian came from a mix of royalty, performance and ambassador fees which were paid to the agent’s now liquidated management company 6 Degrees.

Mr Day was due to take a prearranged cut of the money and reimburse Sebastian with the rest. However, a NSW District Court jury has been told Mr Day allegedly never paid Sebastian the right amounts between 2013 and 2020.
