B*witched, Atomic Kitten and remaining members of East 17 and S Club 7 tour Australia in February

THE nostalgia circuit has moved up to the 2000s, with B*witched, Atomic Kitten, S Club and East 17 touring — but be warned, there are new faces mixed in with the old.

NOSTALGIA tours just got more current with B*witched, Atomic Kitten, S Club 3 and East 17 embarking on a joint visit of Australia in February.

Randomly, Irish girl band B*witched will headline the retro tour, despite only having two Top 10 hits in Australia — 1998’s C’est La Vie and Rollercoaster. The double denim-loving band’s other hits included Blame It On the Weatherman and To You I Belong.

The tour plays Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on February 8, 170 Russell in Melbourne on February 10, Sydney’s Luna Park Big Top on February 11, Wrest Point in Hobart on February 15, Jupiter’s Theatre in the Gold Coast on February 17 and Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane on February 18.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale at 2pm tomorrow, with the general release on sale midday this Thursday.

UK girl band Atomic Kitten will also join the tour — they played a one-off charity show in Melbourne in July after being flown in to play a private charity function by Collingwood football club.

The band features Kerry Katona, the controversial ex-wife of Bryan McFadden. As with their Melbourne show, Liz McClarlon will be replaced by Michelle Heaton of another former pop group, Liberty X. The band stated McClarlon is afraid of long haul flights.

Atomic Kitten scored a No. 2 Australian hit with ballad Whole Again in 2001, as well as hit covers of The Tide Is High, Eternal Flame and Ladies Night. Their other Australian Top 50 hits are Right Now, It’s OK, Be With You and If You Come to Me.

S Club 7 fans will have to settle for S Club 3 — with original members Jo O’Meara, Tina Barrett and Bradley McIntosh. S Club 7’s Australian hits include 1999’s Bring It All Back (No. 3), S Club Party (No. 2) and 2001’s Don’t Stop Movin’ (No. 2), with other Top 50 hits including Reach, Two in a Million, Natural, Have You Ever and Alive.

S Club have toured Australia several times in the last few years with a variety of different members along for the ride, however Jo and Bradley are considered the two main singers.

East 17 are the stalwarts of the tour, with a string of hits starting with 1992’s House Of Love and including Top 20 tunes Deep, West End Girls, Stay Another Day, Steam, If You Ever and the No. 1 It’s Alright.

However fans should note the current East 17 line-up features only dancers John Hendy and Terry Coldwell, not singers Brian Harvey or Tony Mortimer, rather replacement singer Robbie Craig.

B*witched’s career began to stall after the release of their second album Awake and Breathe, which only peaked at No. 70 in Australia in 1999, just a year after their earlier success.

They reformed for a UK reality show in 2012 and released a new EP, Champagne Or Guinness in 2014 after reuniting.
