THE Splendour In The Grass 2014 line-up has been officially announced, and after plenty of speculation and even a few leaks, the final list is here.
Topping the list is, as previously reported, reunited US hip hop duo Outkast. The pair are reportedly earning a cool million dollars to headline this year’s festival.
Outkast announced the concert, their only Australian show, on their own website last week.
Industry sources say the duo, who have just headlined Coachella music festival, were coaxed Down Under for the one-off gig with the seven figure payday.
Their big hits include Hey Ya!, The Way You Move, Roses and Ms Jackson.
The three day festival will also feature exclusive shows by Two Door Cinema Club, Interpol, ChVrches, Darkside and Parquet Courts.
The line-up also boasts Lily Allen, Foster the People, London Grammar, Vance Joy, Kelis, City and Colour, Angus & Julia Stone, Rufus, Hoodoo Gurus, 360, Metronomy, the Jezabels, Ball Park Music, Spiderbait, the 1975 and dozens more.
Lily Allen told News Corp this week she is excited to be playing the iconic festival. “I love playing in Australia, always have done. It’s usually a lot sunnier and nicer than it is in England and in the past I’ve had a brilliant welcome from the Australian fans.”
Allen is one of many Splendour-bound acts expected to announce sideshows in other states. However the new mum said she will not be bringing her two children to Australia for this tour. “I’m only there for a week, it’s a bit too much for them to come all the way there and then all the way back.” Allen’s new album Sheezus is out on May 2.
