Snoop Dogg gives confusing shout out to Larissa Waters for breastfeeding in Parliament

SNOOP Dogg has given a shout out to Greens senator Larissa Waters over Facebook for becoming the first woman to breastfeed in Parliament, but people are not quite sure what it means.

AUSTRALIAN senator Larissa Waters has recently attracted a lot of attention after becoming the first woman to breastfeed in Federal Parliament, seemingly causing enough of a stir to warrant a shout out from none other than legendary rapper Snoop Dogg.

Snoop took a break from his usual pro marijuana legalisation agenda to share an article about the breastfeeding Greens MP, coupling it with an ambiguous “yall seen dis?”

The article, published by Healthy Way, details the recent speech that the Aussie politician delivered in parliament calling for action against black lung disease, while simultaneously breastfeeding her ten-week-old daughter Alia.

Waters became the first woman to breastfeed her baby while calling for a motion, even though it has been legal to breastfeed in Parliament since 2016.

It is hard to tell from his comment whether Snoop Dogg is for parliamentary breastfeeding or against it, but given his progressive views on a range of current issues — pro legalisation of marijuana being one — it is not unreasonable to assume that the rapper is backing Waters’ actions.

Unsurprisingly the post has polarised Snoop’s followers, with commenters having no issue in offering their opinions about the politician’s multi-tasking skills.

“I think there should be boundaries, even for women, seriously WTF?” one Facebook user said

Another person defended Waters’ actions commenting “Her baby was hungry. She fed her baby. Larissa didn’t make this news. She was doing her job and fed her hungry baby — which is allowable in Australian parliament.”

The Greens senator has not seemed phased by the international attention she has been receiving, telling Sunrise last month that “breastfeeding is something that is so natural and normal, and it’s kind of surprising that it’s making font page news”.

But it seems that she still appreciates the shout out and has taken Snoop’s comment as a show of support, making her own Facebook post in response saying “Thanks for the rep Snoop Dogg”.
