CASUALTY actress Hannah Spearritt has revealed how much she earned as one of the members of the hit Ninties pop band — S Club 7.

While many may think top pop stars have million pound salaries, Hannah admitted that she earned an average of £150,000 ($A299,400) a year in pop’s cheesiest band.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the 34-year-old former singer confessed: “I got about £600,000 ($A1.198m) from S Club 7 over four years. It was a lot of money, I didn’t really realise.”

The pop star turned telly star also admitted that she used her hard-earned S Club cash to buy a house with her ex-boyfriend and bandmate Paul Cattermole, 38.

Hannah, who now stars as criminal Mercedes Christie on Casualty, said: “I used it to buy my first ever house with Paul. It was a mews house in Crouch End with three bedrooms. It was nice.

“We paid £375,000 and then sold it for about £475,000 after three years. I didn’t realise how lucky I was then to be able to buy the house outright. I really appreciate it now.”

Despite this, the self-confessed “spender” admitted that there have been times where she’s worried about money.

She revealed: “There have been times when things have gone in that direction. It isn’t a nice feeling. I’m OK as long as I know I can pay my bills and have a little bit of money on top to go enjoy myself. To go to the theatre and stuff — that’s all I need.

“Anything above that is a bonus. That’s what I need to do to keep my stress levels down. I’m a lot better about money now because I never known when my next job is coming from.”

And the blonde babe, who now owns a £1.1m house in Richmond, confessed that she now shops in vintage stores as a way of saving cash.

She added: “I’ve learnt to slow down. I enjoy going to charity shops and vintage shops now and seeking out odd things that not everyone has got.

“I used to buy more expensive stuff and wear it once and then it would be hanging in the wardrobe and I wouldn’t be able to sell it.”

Hannah went on to describe that her worst financial decision was buying a damp-ridden Brighton flat on a whim.

Meanwhile, her best financial decision was buying the Richmond house she lives in now.

The pop stunner gushed: “When you get to know the area you end up falling in love with it. Every time I think about moving I don’t think anywhere else could come close.”
