Azealia Banks has gone on a bizarre online rant aimed at Australian pop star, Troye Sivan.

The American rapper went off on the Perth-born singer after he complimented her hit song 212, calling it his “go-to pregame banger” in a recent Q&A on Spotify’s official TikTok account.

Oddly, the compliment rubbed Banks the wrong way and she let him have it on social media.

“Your [sic] a late condescending expired twink anyway b***h. We’ve been past 212,” she wrote in an Instagram Story, referring to how the track is more than 10 years old.

Banks 32, then hit Sivan, 28, with a series of personal jabs about his appearance and appeal before concluding: “Give it up, puberty hit that ass and made u a doofy looking young man. I bet he’ll pull the gift and ‘come out’ as trans next.”

Sivan – who most recently starred in the HBO series The Idol, streaming locally on BINGE – publicly came out at age 18 in a 2013 YouTube video.

In 2018, after catapulting to fame with his second album Bloom, Sivan appeared to throw shade at the controversial Banks in an interview with radio host Zach Sang.

“I mean, I was a huge Azealia Banks fan, but that all went south a little bit,” he said at the time. “It’s just one of those annoying things where you just wanna support [her] so bad and it just doesn’t work out like that.”

If his comment in his latest Spotify TikTok video was meant to be his olive branch to Banks, it was not welcome.

“This is these white kids’ weird way of apologising for bandwagoning,” the rapper wrote in another Instagram Story.

“I would REALLY appreciate all of these f*ckin civilian ass bitches to stop mentioning me, stop dancing to my s**t in the club if you’re not going to treat me like a human and take back all the unfounded bulls**t you all used ur platforms to perpetuate.”

Banks’ random rant comes months after she took a swipe at Australia’s entertainment industry, calling it “trash”, while also labelling local artists as “untalented/uncultured and unneeded”.

“Realise musical talent is just not in the gene pool,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Absolutely no one on earth takes (the Australian music industry) seriously.”

While she made exceptions for Kylie Minogue, INXS and AC/DC, Banks called Tame Impala “cheesy” and Wolfmother “an American rock tribute band”.

Her Aussie diss was also off the back of her cancelled Aussie shows in late 2022, in which she lashed out at event promoters and vowed never to return to the nation’s shores.

Ms Banks – who claimed promoters failed to pay her – also took aim at Australian currency, calling it “third-world”.
