Justin Timberlake’s new clip ‘the Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad of music videos’

BURNING Illuminati pyramids, Mad Max landscapes, Harvey Weinstein, albino alligators and a woman lifting a car while wearing a “Pussy Grabs Back” T-shirt.

No, this is not a list of deleted scenes from the latest David Lynch movie, but a breakdown of would-be “woke” moments in Justin Timberlake’s new video for Supplies.

The R&B-flavoured track, produced by Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, aka The Neptunes, is the second to be released ahead of his upcoming album, Man of the Woods (out Feb. 2). In the video, the former *NSYNC member taps into modern protest culture while hinting at upcoming disaster.

During its final moments, those hints become particularly heavy-handed, as a bedraggled child shouts, “You’re still asleep? Wake up!” into the camera.

It’s a stylish video, if a bit of a visual grab bag. But what’s especially strange is that these post-apocalyptic images are married to a song that seems to be about being good between the sheets, with lyrics such as “I’ll be the wood when you need heat/I’ll be the generator, turn me on when you need electricity.” Toward the end of the song, Timberlake even applauds himself for being a “generous lover.”

The moral of the story, seemingly, is this: The world might be going to hell in a handbasket, but Justin Timberlake can still make you climax. Whelp, great.

It’s an odd time for Timberlake to be showing the world how socially conscious he is. His latest movie role is in Wonder Wheel — directed by Woody Allen, who’s (still) under fire for alleged incidents of past sexual abuse. One of Allen’s most vocal accusers is his own adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, who recently blasted Timberlake for working with the director.
