‘Wall of death’: Veronicas fans reveal ‘injuries’ after Good Things performance

Fans of The Veronicas claim to have been left “requiring first aid” after a brutal part of the Aussie duo’s performances over the weekend.

'Wall of Death' for The Veronicas

Fans of The Veronicas claim to have been “crushed” in an allegedly brutal mosh pit during the Aussie pop duo’s performances at festivals over the weekend.

The twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso took to the stage in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as part of the touring alternative rock festival, Good Things.

As they performed their international top 10 hit Untouched, the crowds broke out in a “wall of death”.

Popularised by the US heavy metal band Lamb of God, the wall of death sees mosh pit split down the middle and concertgoers charging at each other, full-pelt, as the breakdown kicks in.

Before the The Veronicas took to the stage over the weekend, fans planned to get a wall of death going and afterwards, many of them shared pictures of their “injuries”.

Some say they were “knocked down”, “injured” and left “requiring first aid”.

“I got trampled at the end of Untouched but (it was) worth it,” one fan posted on Instagram, after the performance at Brisbane Showgrounds on December 8.

“Still discovering bruises and scratches from the wall of death,” another fan with a swollen ankle wrote on Instagram after attending the festival at Sydney’s Centennial Park on December 7.

Another, who saw The Veronicas perform at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on December 6, said: “I took a serious smack to the face and nearly got knocked out.”

“I got crushed, couldn’t breathe, almost passed out and ended up in the (medical) tent,” wrote another fan.

Videos from the Sydney performance show the Origliasso twins yelling “look after each other out there” as the mosh pit breaks out.

The Veronicas, whose reality show Blood is for Life is currently airing on Foxtel Now, appear to have released a limited edition T-shirt about the “walls of death”.

“I survived the wall of death 2019,” the $30 T-shirt reads.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday night, Lisa wrote: “We rocked Sydney Good Things today, it was crazy. They managed to fit in two walls of death.”

The pair made headlines earlier this year when they were removed from a flight to Brisbane after they “refused to follow crew instructions” and were deemed security risks, in a scene the pair themselves have described as “upsetting and embarrassing”.
