The Falls Music Festival line up Revealed
FANS of the popular music and arts festival are celebrating one of the festival’s best and most genders diverse line-ups.
IT’S officially 26 years since the Falls Music and Arts Festival (lovingly known as ‘Falls’) humbly kicked off in Lorne, Victoria with a one day concert.
Originally called ‘Rock Above The Falls’ it attracted more than 11,000 music lovers who came to see Powderfinger, Regurgitator, Radio Birdman and The Living End.
In 1995 the two-day format was adopted and in ‘96 the name was changed to what we know and love today. In 2003 two events were held simultaneously and in 2013 the Byron Bay event was introduced, increasing the festival’s reach across the country.
But you’re not here about the history and lore of Falls! You want to know about the crazy- good line-up.

Organisers say they are trying to capture “reborn positivity and blast it skyward from stage to crowd, creating an unforgettable celebration of the very best music, arts and good times”.
“With an all-star line-up landing among the glittering sunsets, cobalt coastlines and disco docklands of Australia’s heartland, artists from across Australia and around the world are primed to transform our rolling natural amphitheatres and inner-city stages this summer.
“Warmer weather is just around the corner and with the return of the sun comes the arrival of renewed optimism and feverish expectations for 2019,” organisers said.
“Underneath the Falls hood you’ll find: world class music, creative installations, visual arts performances, pop-up bars and beer gardens, passouts all festival long, thoughtful camping facilities, comedy clubs, daily beach access, glorious gourmet fare, makers’ markets, local traders, beauty parlours, holistic yoga and wellbeing, plus loads more to be announced.
“With every show selling out last year, there’s no doubt that after two and a half decades, Falls remains as vital as the summer sun.”
After being heavily criticised last year for it’s lack of gender diversity, the Falls Music and Arts Festival is back for the 26th time with a line up which is 48 per cent female.
Well done, Falls!
