DRAMATIC video has emerged of an incident at a music festival where a singer leapt from the stage to help a fan who was being restrained by security.
Tonight Alive frontwoman Jenna McDougall can be seen jumping during her band’s Soundwave set in Brisbane on Saturday to help a fan pinned to the ground.
According to fans on social media, the festival goer was crowd surfing before being grabbed by security staff.
Pictures and videos taken at the event appear to show one guard with his hand around the fan’s throat.
McDougall can be heard pleading with crowd control to let the man go, telling them “he’s cool” before trying to intervene.
“Get the f*** outta here,” she said.
Security staff eventually released the man, who got a hug and high-five from the lead singer.
“Security are hired to protect ... I'm extremely disappointed,” she wrote on social media.
“Having said that, I realise this abuse of power does not apply to all security & was grateful for the respect & care taken in Melb. & Adel.,” she added.
