Troye Sivan finally returned to Perth as promised over the weekend after facing backlash for not bringing his world tour to his hom estate.

Sivan performed at the annual Spilt Milk House Party festival that was held at Kings Park over two nights on the 16th and 17th of November.

The Australian-born YouTuber turned pop sensation took headlined the festival on both nights, performing a 45-minute set filled with sexually-charged pop bangers and half-naked dancers.

He kicked off his set with the newly Grammy-nominated track Got Me Started before performing a selection of his biggest hits, including his two songs with best pal Charli XCX, 1999 and Talk Talk.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Madonna and Britney, whom helped shape the commanding stage performer Sivan is today, the singer cycled through tightly choreographed numbers and managed to change a whopping four times.

He found time during his set to appreciate how far he’s come as an artist, sharing a heartwarming moment with the crowd when reminiscing about his childhood in Perth and dreams of making it big.

“I’ve partied all around the world but this is where I learned to party,” he shared. “I have home videos of me as a three-year-old singing in Kings Park. It’s very cool to be doing this right now, thank you.”

Never afraid to put on a scandalous performance, Sivan’s shared intimate moments with his male dancers, and one point, simulating a sexual act before turning around and sharing a passionate kiss with another, eliciting screams from the crowd that he seemingly had in the palm of his hand.

Before he took to the stage, the crowd was serenaded by numerous other acts including, G-Flip, Glass Animals and Artemas.

This year’s House Party event delivered exactly what it promised, and felt renewed with its change of venue that allowed for not only a more intimate settling but gorgeous viewers of one of the most beautiful cities in the world at sunset.

Spilt Milk House Party will next be taking over the Gold Coast and Newcastle on 23 & 24 November, with final tickets still available for purchase.

And for those who get a taste of Glass Animals and are eager for more, the group kicks off their Australian headline tour at Sidney Myer Music Bowl later this month.
