ROLLING Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood reckons it’s “bloody ridiculous” Kanye West is headlining Glastonbury as more than 125,000 fans of the iconic festival sign a protest petition calling for him to be canned from the bill.

Wood said organisers Michael and Emily Eavis had made the wrong decision because West isn’t a rock act.

“It’s bloody ridiculous that Kanye is the headline act this year. It p****s me off so I try not to think about it too much,” he told The Mirror.

“Glastonbury is the home of rock music and, look, Kanye isn’t rock. He’s a great entertainer and he knows how to captivate an audience with all his swearing, but when it comes to what that festival is about, it’s the wrong choice.

“Good luck to the man — I don’t know if he’ll survive when he’s on that stage.”

But Wood may have missed the memo that Glasto, as it is affectionately known worldwide, has celebrated Jay-Z and then Beyonce on the coveted Saturday night spot in recent years.

A change.org petition calling for the controversial West to be booted off the bill and replaced with a rock band was closing in on its target of 150,000 signatures.

The petition campaigner Neil Lonsdale wrote that West is “an insult to music fans all over the world” and referenced the hip-hop superstar’s controversial comments relating to Beck winning Album Of The Year at the Grammys last month.

“We spend hundreds of pounds to attend Glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment,” the petition states.

“Kanye has been very outspoken on his views on music ... he should listen to his own advice and pass his headline slot on to someone deserving!

“Let’s prevent this musical injustice now!”

Festival boss Emily Eavis condemned the protest and said the petition showed the “dark underbelly of the web”.

She claimed only a handful of people had asked for a refund after West was confirmed for the event.

West is no stranger to the festival stage and has headlined Big Day Out and Splendour In The Grass in Australia.
