IT’S one of the last national festivals standing and the regional-friendly Groovin’ the Moo has revealed an eclectic line-up of international and local stars for their 2017 run.

Among the headliners are British crowd-pleasers The Wombats, Australian rock faves Violent Soho and Hottest 100 queen Amy Shark.

After last year’s focus on the lack of female artists on our festival bills, GTM have booked seven acts featuring women including Against Me! fronted by transgender punk rocker Laura Jane Grace, American genrebender K. Flay and impressive locals Montaigne, Tash Sultana and George Maple.

International acts who fuelled social media excitement among punters include American DJ and producer Dillon Francis, German pop folkers Milky Chance and British electronic duo Snakehips.

One of the big surprises on the all-ages bill, which is a favourite with younger festivalgoers, was the return of over-the-top English rockers The Darkness who shook the world in 2003 with their breakout hit I Believe In a Thing Called Love.

The GTM pre-sale will open at 9am on February 1 with general tickets to the Wayville, Townsville and Maitland on sale from 9am on February 7 and Bendigo, Bunbury and Canberra from 9am on February 8.

They are available from gtm.net.au or moshtix.com.au
