Just a week after the demise of the nation’s groundbreaking Big Day Out, festival punters have been promised a “cultural and sensory experience’’ that will be unparalleled in Australia.

Luxury camping with room service, a pop-up hotel with 24-hour concierge and hangover spas are among the perks organisers hope will give Beyond The Valley the edge.

”This is really a shift away from the super festivals of the past to a boutique camping-style offering aiming to tailor to every taste,” director Nick Greco said.

”We wanted to do something that was a step above what was already being offered and it will be very current, which I think is something that has been lost with some other festivals.’’

He said event staff would be devoted to, and infrastructure tailored towards, patron comfort

and satisfaction — with a green focus.

Ticket prices won’t be announced until August, when the full line-up of bands will also be released.

“We have a good mix of indie bands, hip hop and rap and dance music, a mix of locals and internationals and a focus on emerging Australian talent,” Mr Greco said.

It’s hoped more than 10,000 people will head to Phillip Island for the December spectacle, which will be hosted on the same sprawling land owned by Mr Fox, previously occupied by the Pyramid Rock Festival.

Last week, Big Day Out chiefs confirmed the 22-year-old music event would not be staged next year. Financial constraints and a lack of available artists are believed to be at the heart of the decision.

Last year’s Pyramid Rock Festival was cancelled for similar reasons.
