LIAM Gallagher will play this year’s Falls Festivals around Australia.

The former Oasis frontman let the cat out of the bag in a new interview with GQ Australia magazine.

“We’re coming out there, doing the Falls Festival,” Gallagher said.

“So, we’re gonna be there for New Year’s Eve. So I can’t wait, man — love it. It’s beautiful. I’m bringing me two boys out as well, they’re at the age now where they can come and travel.”

Gallagher admits his sons Lennon and Gene are fans of the “stoner” Australian cartoon The Big Lez Show, created by Jarrad Wright, Izak Whear and Tom Hollis.

“It’s like a f---ing Australian Cheech and Chong. They love a bit of that Australian vibe.”

Gallagher revealed his knowledge of new Australian music extends to Sydney’s DMAs, who have been compared to Oasis.

“I went to see them a couple of weeks ago, and I like what I see. Man, they got some good tunes in there.”

The full Falls Festival line-up is revealed at 8.15am tomorrow.

2017 is the 25th anniversary of the Falls Festival, which began in Lorne and has now extended to Marion Bay in Tasmania, Byron Bay and Fremantle.

Gallagher was last in Australia in 2014 playing the Big Day Out with his post-Oasis band Beady Eye.

Ironically Beady Eye were the last-minute replacement to Oasis’ rivals Blur, who were originally scheduled to play the Big Day Out.

Gallagher’s debut solo album As You Were is released on October 6.
