Laneway Festival 2017 line-up announced
THE line-up for the 2017 Laneway Festival has been announced and it promises yet another impressive list of local and international acts.
IN JUST a decade, Australian psychedelic rock lords Tame Impala have risen from alternative buzz band to headliners of the national Laneway Festival.
The band return from their world tour to lead a wildly eclectic bill for the 2017 boutique music event, dominated by popular Australian festival favourites including Nick Murphy (the artist formerly known as Chet Faker), Luca Brasi and Gang Of Youths.
There are big expectations of a raft of local rising stars including Sampa The Great, Camp Cope, Tash Sultana, Aurora, Jess Kent and Laneway MCs A.B. Original.
International artists booked for the summer festival, celebrated for its chilled atmosphere, include British electronic artist Tourist and indie rockers Glass Animals, Canadian electronic duo Bob Moses and his punk rock countrymen White Lung.
The festival opens at the Brisbane Showgrounds on January 26 and heads to Footscray Community Arts Centre And The River’s Edge, Melbourne on January 28; Hart’s Mill, Adelaide on February 3; Sydney College of the Arts, Sydney on February 4; and Esplanade Reserve and West End, Fremantle on February 5.
Tickets are on sale from 9am on September 21 through lanewayfestival.com and in-store at General Pants. A Visa pre-sale opens at 9am on Friday.
