Guns N’ Roses confirm they will reunite to play Coachella 2016
IT’S the rock reunion that many — including the warring members of Guns N’ Roses — thought they’d never see. And it’s finally been confirmed.
IT’S the reunion that many — including the warring members of Guns N Roses — thought they’d never see. Until now.
Rumours that Guns N’ Roses are reforming to headline the Coachella festival in April have finally been confirmed.
The news was revealed on the band’s official Twitter account, with an image showing the complete line-up of the festival, which takes place in Indio, California, in April.

The Coachella line-up includes LCD Soundsystem, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding and Ice Cube.
Australian artists Sia, Flume and Courtney Barnett will also take to the stage.
Lead guitarist Slash and bass guitarist Axl Rose took to Instagram and Twitter to confirm the news, which will send diehard fans of the band into a frenzy, by posting a picture of the Gunners logo emblazoned on an image depicting the desert festival.

The ever-enigmatic frontman Axl Rose has not yet commented on the reunion. The erratic singer was set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel’s chat show on Tuesday night but cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances”, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Guns are rumoured to be setting up a 25-date stadium tour and will reportedly play the Reading and Leeds festivals.
Drummer Matt Sorum, who replaced Steve Adler in 1991, will join the three original members at Coachella.
At their peak, they were one of the world’s biggest — and most notorious — bands. Their 1987 album Appetite For Destruction was the fastest-selling debut of all time in the US and they went on to tour the world, playing epic stadium shows.
But it all exploded in spectacular fashion, brought down by infighting over money, huge egos, booze and drug abuse.
The reunion is only now possible due to Rose and Slash finally burying the hatchet in 2015 after decades of bad blood.
It is still not known if Steve Adler, the band’s first drummer will also take part.
Adler, who suffered a drug-related stroke in recent years, was fired by the band over his heroin use in 1991, but has always been considered an integral part of the band’s classic line-up.
Guitarist Izzy Stradlin, who co-founded the band with Axl Rose in Los Angeles in 1985 but abruptly left the band at the height of their fame in 1991 — may also appear.
At the time of his departure, the former heroin addict was newly drug-free and couldn’t cope with the hellraising antics of his fellow members.
Estranged from the other members for years, relations have thawed in recent times with Stradlin making separate guest appearances on stage with Axl Rose and Slash.
