Drake has issued his first public remarks on the “devastating tragedy” at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, where he made a surprise appearance before a stampede of concertgoers led to the deaths of eight people.

“I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy,” Drake wrote in a post to Instagram, the New York Post reported.

“My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering,” he added.

“I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can.”

A number of lawsuits have already been filed by concertgoers, including one against both Drake and Scott.

Among those injured in the stampede was a nine-year-old boy who is now clinging to life in coma after suffering injuries to his organs.

“He’s a small innocent child — he didn’t deserve that, he didn’t deserve that at all,” the boy’s grandfather told a local television station.
