RADIOHEAD were forced to walk offstage twice during their headline Coachella set after they were hit with numerous sound issues.

The iconic rockers had to deal with complete sound failures and two episodes of audio feedback, The Sun reports.

Frontman Thom Yorke rarely speaks during shows, but managed to crack a joke about not cracking a joke.

“Can you actually hear me now?” he asked the crowd.

“I’d love to tell you a joke, lighten the mood, something like that. But this is Radiohead, so f*** it.”

Fans vented their annoyance about the slip-ups on social media.

One tweeted: “Very disappointed that Coachella messed up Radiohead’s sound. I’ve been waiting my whole life to see them.”

Another added: “Coachella have murdered Radiohead’s set. Sound has cut out 3 times and now all you can hear is bass. #disaster.”

Someone else wrote: “Radiohead deserved better Coachella …. hope the sound engineers learned something tonight.”

One person thought that UK festival Glastonbury would not let such an accident happen.

They tweeted: “You wait for that magical last verse of Let Down, & the sound drops out just for that minute. Roll on Glastonbury.”

However, others praised Radiohead for keeping their cool.

One person tweeted: “Sound tech issues aside, radiohead played an amazing set. So good the speakers couldn’t handle it.”

Someone else tweeted: “Shame everyone is focused on sound problems in Radiohead #coachella set. Seriously it was about 4mins out of 2hr+ show. THEY WERE AMAZING.”

Another fan tweeted: “Awed by radiohead, acted like perfect English gents during coachella’s unfortunate string of sound failures. You melted my face and heart.”

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place in Indio, California, over two consecutive weekends with the same line-up at each event.
