Australians are officially set for a “brat summer” following news Charli xcx will headline Laneway festival.

Rumours the star could be headlining the event began to swirl after some pointed out an apple in the 2025 logo on Laneway’s website, with many believing it could be a nod to Charli xcx’s hit Apple.

“Brat laneway?” one commented on Laneway’s Instagram post.

“Brat” inspired Laneway posters were also spotted in Australia last week, further fuelling the rumours.

Joining Charli xcx is American singer-songwriter Clairo, whose hits Sofia and Sexy to Someone have brought her more than 20m monthly listeners on Spotify.

Beabadoobee has also been added to the bill, with hits Glue Song and the perfect pair sure to get the crowd going.

Aussie surf rock duo Skeggs are also set to perform at the festival, along with Bicep, Remi Wolf, Olivia Dean, Eyedress, Stum, Rona, Hamdi, Joey Valence & Brae, 2Hollis, Fcukers, Ninajirachi, Julie and Girl Girl.

However eagle-eyed fans have pointed to what appears to be a gap on the bill next to Remi Wolf, with speculation already growing about whether another band is slated to be added to the lineup.

People have been quick to back the lineup, with one commenting “this is for the girls only”.

“LaneSLAY,” another wrote.

“Legendary lineup,” added another.

However others weren’t as easily pleased.

“Lineup getting worse each year,” one wrote.

“You won’t see me there personally,” another added.

Organisers previously revealed the festival would kick off in New Zealand on February 6 before heading to Brisbane Showgrounds on February 8, Sydney Showgrounds on February 9, Flemington Park in Melbourne on February 14, Bonython Park in Adelaide on February 15, and Wellington Square in Perth on February 16.

The festival will welcome audiences aged 16 years and over at all events, with tickets beginning at $189.90 for the pre-sale on October 15 (plus fees).

The second release will cost punters $204.90, while the third and fourth will cost a respective $219.90 and $229.90.

VIP tickets will also be available for $289.90.

“We wanted to share the ticket prices for Laneway 2025 earlier than usual, so you can prepare well in advance,” an email sent out on Wednesday morning read.
