The cover for Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the inspiration for the film he premiered in Sydney last week, was pulled by West's record company as it features a painting of the star and a winged woman reclining naked on a bed.
In typical style, West went on a four-hour Twitter rant yesterday blaming retailer Wal-Mart for stifling his creativity.
"Banned in the USA!!! They don't want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!" he tweeted.
"In the '70s album covers had actual nudity."
