‘I’ve lost my best friend’: Slain rapper Nipsey Hussle’s girlfriend reveals heartbreak

The girlfriend of Nipsey Hussle has broken her silence on his death, revealing she is “completely lost” by his passing.

Nipsey Hussle’s longtime girlfriend has broken her silence, revealing she is “completely lost” after the rapper was gunned down in Los Angeles.

Lauren London, who dated the rapper for five years and was the mother of his son Kross, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram to Hussle.

Sharing a collection of photos of the rapper, London wrote: “I am completely lost. I’ve lost my best friend, my sanctuary, my protector, my soul.

“I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words.”

On Sunday Hussle was shot dead in Los Angeles near his clothing store, Champion Clothing. Suspect Eric Holder — a wannabe rapper also known as “S****y cuz” — was arrested on Tuesday.

Los Angeles police believe the shooting was the result of a personal dispute between Holder and Hussle CNN reports.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who had blamed “senseless gun violence” for the death of Hussle, 33, voiced hope for “justice that Nipsey’s family and community deserve” as the arrest was announced.

The killing in broad daylight triggered an outpouring of grief in LA and among Hussle’s superstar peers, who hailed both his musical talents and tireless community organising.

During his 10-year career Hussle released multiple mixtapes and was nominated for a Grammy for his first studio album Victory Lap.

Signed to Atlantic Records, he performed at the Warner Music party in Los Angeles during Grammy Week.

Hussle released his first mixtape Slauson Boy Volume 1 in 2005 and followed with two more, Bullets Ain’t Got No Name volumes 1 and 2, in 2008.

He signed with Epic Records that year, although an album he reportedly completed for the label South Central State of Mind was never released and he left the label in 2010.

In the following years he collaborated with Drake on the song Killer as well as Snoop Dogg on the song Upside Down.

He continued to release mixtapes over the years, collaborating with Rick Ross, YG, DJ Mustard and many others. In 2016 he released a song with YG about the presidential election called FDT.

He signed with Atlantic the following year and released Victory Lap earlier in 2018.
