‘Horrific’: Queen legend shares heartbreak

Queen legend Brian May has broken his social media silence for the first time since he revealed he had suffered a stroke.

Brian May has lashed out on social media after becoming the target of a shocking scam.

The scam was brought to May’s attention by a Queen fan who shared a video that was originally posted on TikTok.

It turns out some AI scammers on TikTok have been posting a video of what looks like Sir Brian May offering backstage tickets to a Queen concert.

“I hope you’re all well out there,” says the fake Brian May in the video. “Some good news. Backstage tickets for my next show in your cities are now going for only $800, which were previously $2000. I’m only selecting 10 people in the comments, so if you’re ready to make payment, comment, ‘ready’.”

May responded to the post publicly, sharing his horror and anger with fans over the “creepy” video.

“My God. This is horrific,” he said in a video.

“I suppose this is now so easy to do – and there are always people who will sink to any depths to try to make a quick buck. Disgusting.”

He continued: “Thanks for the alert dear stereojazz. 3d – I’ve alerted our team and hopefully we can squash this.”

Fans rushed to comment, some of whom admitted the video had fooled them.

“That they abuse your beautiful personality for this scam hurts even more and is really scary. I hate it,” commented one.

“It is insanely terrifying what AI can do these days,” wrote another.

Earlier this year, Lloyds Bank revealed that fans of Taylor Swift in the UK had handed over more $1.5 million to scammers for tickets that didn’t exist.

Meanwhile, it’s been a tough year for May after he revealed last month he had suffered from a stroke.

Legendary Queen guitarist May revealed that as a result of the stroke, he had been left temporarily unable to use one of his arms.

Despite the scary nature of the incident, May insisted that he’s still able to play the guitar despite the “little health hiccup.”

“I’m here to bring you some good news — the good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days,’ he said, twiddling his fingers for emphasis,” he said in a video on Instagram.

“I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned happened about a week ago and what they called it was a minor stroke.”

He praised medics for their “fantastic care,” adding, “I didn’t want to say anything at the time because I didn’t want anything surrounding, you know. I really don’t want sympathy.”

“Please don’t do that because it’ll clutter up my inbox and I hate that,” he continued.

“The good news is I’m okay. Just doing what I’m told, which is basically nothing. I’m grounded.”

“I’m not allowed to go out – well, I’m not allowed to drive, not allowed to get on a plane, not allowed to raise the heart rate too high … but I’m good,” he added.
