POP princess Britney Spears has shocked her fans with a sexy new photo shoot in which she is virtually unrecognisable.

V Magazine unveiled the three alternate Mario Testino-shot covers on their Twitter account, leaving many fans shocked by Spears’ appearance.

The covers are to celebrate the magazine’s 100th issue, which debuted nine months after Spears’ first single Baby One More Time.

The shoot features Spears, 34, in a Balmain outfit and Christian Louboutin heels. But it was her face that had her fans talking.

In the interview, the Piece of Me singer opens up about living in the public eye for the past 20 years.

“Whoever is in the spotlight, people are really quick to judge … You know, Justin Bieber, he’s huge, and he experiences that. It’s just the way the world works, unfortunately,” Spears said.

“I’ve been doing this for 20 years. I kind of don’t pay attention to it. I have my relationship with God and myself and that’s what matters to me. I really don’t care what most people think.”

V Magazine founder and editor-in-chief Stephen Gan said they chose Spears to grace the 100th cover because the pop stars and musicians, who have become an integral part of what the magazine represents, look up to her.

“She has entered icon status, and who in our world did not grow up listening to her music?”

Spears is currently recording her ninth studio album, while headlining a Las Vegas residency show.
